Welcome to Pregnancy Basics, a comprehensive two-hour series designed for your convenience. Join us live access the class online at your own pace through Teachable or SKOOL. This informative session will guide you through the stages of pregnancy, providing essential support and education without overwhelming you. Together, we will explore key topics to empower you on this incredible journey.

Stages of Pregnancy (Trimesters)

  • First Trimester (Weeks 1–13): Characterized by rapid development, heart formation, and early symptoms like fatigue and morning sickness.

  • Second Trimester (Weeks 14–27): Usually marked by increased energy, reduced nausea, and visible growth as the fetus develops senses and hair.

  • Third Trimester (Weeks 28–40+): Focuses on weight gain and lung maturity, with movements becoming stronger.

Early Signs and Symptoms

  • Missed Period: Often the first indicator.

  • Nausea/Morning Sickness: Can occur anytime, often starting 1–2 months after conception.

  • Fatigue & Tender Breasts: Caused by high progesterone levels.

  • Increased Urination: Due to increased blood volume.

  • Normal Pregnancy: Approximately 40 weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP).

  • Full-Term: 37 to 42 weeks.

Types of Pregnancy and Considerations

  • Full-term Pregnancy: 39–40 weeks.

  • Preterm Pregnancy: Birth before 37 weeks.

  • High-Risk Pregnancy: Requires specialized care due to potential complications involving maternal or fetal health.

  • Mood Swings: Common due to rapid hormonal changes and fatigue.

  • Anxiety/Excitement: Normal, involving worries about childbirth, finances, and parenting.

  • Symptoms: Monitor for swelling, intense pain, or high blood pressure.
